Jersey??

All the rumors you have heard are true. Due to circumstances far out of my control I've moved to the dark side of the Hudson. I made a rushed/quick decision to accept a place in Hamilton Park Jersey. People over here like to fancy it Park Slope-like or Carrol Gardens-like. Neither of these work. It's more like a desolate land that has been finally been settled upon and tilled by the newcomers.

The settlers have brought fertile ground in the form of cafe's, bars and fancy little restaurants. Factories are being turned into condos with homage being paid to their roots as makers of chocolate or pencils. Brownstones are being refinished, buildings are being erected and parks are being renovated.

Now I make my home in a tiny slice of Jersey City. In this tiny slice of Jersey I have been able to find an official cookie place and a place for great burgers; a man does not need much more in his life.

I'd write about the misadventures of moving to Jersey but Lbo already beat me to it.
